“I Assure You” was recorded in May 2004 in Ploubalay, France. It was the year after “Yes of Course!” and at the same time as “Why Not”. They were both recorded and mixed by Jeff Rigourd. This marked the first time I mixed with Jeff. This was the second annual W3 all-star band recording and was a reunion of the same players that recorded “Yes of Course!” The subject matter of the songs was heavily influenced by my relationship with Sophie, a French woman I met at a march against the war in Paris in April 2003 when I was there to record “Yes of Course!”. The relationship lasted until November 2005 with numerous trips back and forth between France and U.S. This recording is part of a trilogy of Yes of Course!, Why Not? and I Assure You.
